Without any doubt, Focus, Task Management, and Time Tracking are three important aspects of being productive.

For years, I have used the Pomodoro technique for being focused during a task and, on the other hand, for Task management and Time Tracking, I have tried a lot of task management, todo lists, or time tracker applications like Microsoft To-Do, Todoist, Wunderlist (in the past) and a lot more.

In this story, I want to describe how TickTick changed everything for me and allowed me to manage those other two aspects (Task Management and Time Tracking) around the Pomodoro Technique in one single application.

TickTick: Todo list, checklist, and task manager app

Why the Pomodoro Technique is important to me?

My productivity loop comprises three main steps:

  • Planning (Task management)
  • Focusing (Pomodoro technique)
  • Evaluating (Report based on the time tracking)
Productivity loop

Of course, there are more details for each step, and also there are other sub-steps.

After a while, I found that the Focusing step (or the Doing step) is the main pillar and the most crucial step for me. I do not want to explain why, but procrastination and laziness are a daily routine for a lazy person like me! In this way, The Planning and Evaluating steps will be meaningless and frustrating if I cannot overcome them. And the Pomodoro Technique appears, and it helps me turn this vicious cycle into an efficient one.

How does TickTick help me in this loop?

About six years ago, this was my dream:
