Thanks for sharing your experience. You are right, and I think this compiler parameter is active by default in the newer version of build tools and modern IDEs. As I mentioned in the post, they created a new ticket to enable it by default in vscode-java. As far as I know, it is active by default in the Eclipse IDE (but not in eclipse.jdt.core)
